Race The Tortoise 5K Run/Walk

Titus the Tortoise wants YOU at the 11th Race the Tortoise 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles) to be held at OʼLeno State Park on March 7, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. This event is hosted by Friends of OʼLeno, Inc.
This is an out and back race course with mile markers. It is on the Park’s main road which is scenic, paved and free of traffic during the race. The start and finish lines are near the main parking area approximately 1.5 miles from the Park’s entrance.
In addition to Male & Female Overall and Masters, awards will be given for top 3 in each Age Group, Male & Female. (9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+). A new course record for Male & Female Overall will be awarded $100, and a new course record for Male & Female Masters will be awarded $50.
This year we are including one hot breakfast ticket* in addition to the usual spread of snacks for each participant, with additional tickets available for purchase. Cabins are also available to rent for $25/night. All proceeds from the event will be used to support improvements and educational programs at O’Leno and River Rise Preserve State Parks.
It is a family-friendly running and walking event promoting a healthy lifestyle and the beauty of OʼLeno State Park. Some participants will be racing for prize money and awards, some to achieve a personal best, and some to complete their first running event. Whether you run fast, slow, or walk, come out and challenge yourself to Race the Tortoise. All levels of ability are welcome.

*One hot breakfast ticket is included with your registration. Breakfast tickets for friends and family can be purchased with your online/mail-in registration for $3 per person.
