Who We Are
We are a dedicated group of volunteers, passionate about Florida’s natural spaces, and proud to offer our time and talents to support and promote two beautiful state parks–O’Leno and River Rise Preserve.
Our members enjoy many outdoor recreational activities including hiking, camping, canoeing, fishing, bicycling, birdwatching, and of course horseback riding, just to name a few.
And we are a non-profit 501(c)3 Citizen Support Organization (CSO).
Our Mission
It is our mission to support O’Leno State Park and River Rise Preserve State Park by volunteering our time toward fundraising, recreational and educational events; helping to maintain and preserve natural, cultural and historical resources; and by promoting academic and archeological research.

Our History
Chartered in 1988 by the State of Florida, Friends of O’Leno, Inc. is one of the oldest Citizen Support Organizations in Florida, and has been crucial in developing the equestrian facilities at River Rise Preserve, as well as the Nature Center at O’Leno State Park.
We continue to help with the upkeep of the buildings at both of those locations with the purchase and maintenance of displays, educational materials, and equipment.
